Good day folks and thought this would be a good place to start on my problem.. well, it been going on for about three weeks and I've had the thermostat replaced and the water in the rad changed, but the heat is not as it should be in the car.
It's a 97 1.4 model.

Steve

hi Steve,
the heater rads block up on them...you can remove them easily and try and flush them out...
The rad is under the dash on the passenger side...

Anew rad comes with the metal pipes but you have to take out most of the dash to fit them...i just replace the seals and the matrix..

regards
andrew

hi steve..

£500 is a bit steep....
if you leave your reg number i will check the price of the matrix on the renault system and a guide of labour times...

cheers
andrew

p.s...air con???

Hi Andrew

£500 was a price I got from two indepentent garages (which is about as much as the car cost me)

My reg is P71 PEW

No air con

Thanks

Steve

hi steve...
the heater is £70.65 from renault

i would do the whole job down here for £150.00...
thats matrix,antifreeze and labour....all in...

but im in Penzance..lol..

i think there quoting for replacing the 2 metal pipes which go behind the dash which you dont need to replace...they come in the box....
the book time i think is about 6 hours if i remember,...

hope this helps as a guide...

cheers
andrew

hi steve...again...
just relised that your megane isnt a scenic so they wont even have those pipes.

are those garages desperate for work...

Oh dear, they do try it on don't they!

Well thanks very much for that and I will probably go to my nearsest main dealer now. I don't mind paying around the £200 mark.

Hope I can get it in before the realy cold weather comes :)

Have a great Sunday mate

Steve

you could always drive to penzance and i will do it for you...
