Reverse light switch

Hello folks!

My R4 doesn't have the reverse lights, so I would like to fit them. I've read several threads here but, unfortunately, I haven't found a clear image of the switch position. So, I took a pic of my gear box to aks you if the cap indicated is the one that I get to replace with the switch.
Is it? Thanks a lot!!!!!

Bye bye

Seems to be correct. I have marked the position on a picture of my gear box for you. Mine had a screw in it that had a blade connector on the outside, but was definitely no reversing light switch.
I fitted the correct switch, http://www.franzose.de/de/Renault/R4/Getriebe/ANR85120/
and it worked like a charm. My "new" body shell provides the cabling for the reversing lights.

Hi Robert! Thanks for your help. I really appreciate it :)
Seems to be that, indeed. Now I can go ahead with the "reversing lights project". Fortunately, my R4 has the cabling for those lights, as well.
Thanks again

Fabio

You have to be carefull when you put in the new switch, because there are switches with different "noses". When the "nose" is to long the switch is damaged by shifting. Somtimes it takes an additionel washer to find the correct position. Best is to take the gearbox cover of to see what's going on.

It's a pleasure to find you here Ramblers, hope you have good time with your project...
