Rusty fuel tank

My fuel tank is rusty inside, so the rust comes up with the fuel and the filter is not sufficient to prevent the dirtening of the carburettor: every some time my r4 begins to lose power and turns off when I give no gas.
I asked mother renault for a new tank, but they are very expensive, 400 euros less or more. An used one from the scrappy I think would be in the same condition of mine...
Franzose has a fuel tank in his catalogue, but is smaller than mine (I think it is the reproduction of the earlier model) and they say I can use it under some minor modification. I did not like that answer. Has anyone used that fuel tank?
So I was thinking of using some pruduct as tankerite or similar to treat the interior of the fuel tank and repair mine (or the scrappy one, so I have no gaps in wich I must not use my car). Have you used such a product? What brand (sold in Italy) are you going to advice me?
Also technical tips are wellcome.
Thanks.

Azzello I have recently used a kit from POR 15 fuel tank cleaner and sealant, has metal cleaner primer and sealant, really good product, rust proofs etc, check out their website, I bought mine from carby specialist but you can probably buy online or maybe locate seller near you. I had issues with stale fuel and inhaled vapour which was very poisonous so take precautions, but yes I would recommend this as excellent solution, depends how decrepid tank is too I guess, I am currently investigating fuel sender float as the unit is old bit hopefully functioning( not tested yet) but the float is perished so thinking of sealing with a polyurethane coat- should be petrol resistant. Btw cost of fuel tank kit was app $150 US but metal cleaning products are reusable to a degree- I have used on other surfaces to clean and neutralize rust.

It sounds good, but I do not live in USA and they do not seem to deliver outside there... During the registration they asked me where I live, but the only answer available was United States...
I was looking for the UK vendor, http://www.holden.co.uk/displayprod...gName=&pgName=&agCode=&agName=&pCode=094.940#
With VAT and postage to Italy it will cost £79.80...
I was looking after this product, I had some advice in italian forums:
http://www.tankerite.com/catalogo-o...e=flypage-ask.tpl&product_id=11&category_id=6
It will cost me about 70 euros including delivering.
