Got away to some warm-well,more sweathy actually, sun&sand for a while-thought I'd leave all this snow behind for a while-found it to be just as hard wobbling along on these crutch-sticks in knee-deep sand..Also found them to be lethal weapons if 'ever-so-slightly inebriated' by numerous silly tourist-only watered-out umbrelladrinks.
Back home to find the place full of newly fallen snow-It's some 60cm out here now.
Used Roffen to pack it somewhat down by going in and out of drive-way 2000times.SO nice to be able to drive the Roffmobile
again! Took it for a spin (literally)just locally around the house.
Lots of fun even at only 20km's/h on summertires!!!
Can't wait till I get rid of the sticks and am able to use my foot again-Sorry no pictures as I am so wobbly that I would keel over and end up choked to death with head into snowdrift if I tried-Will send pics when normally steady(Gross exaggeration of norm & lack of insight in own situation as usual showing little or no will of reality-orienting says wife)
-ONE thing for sure.. Roffen is for keeps! -R.

jjad! Thanx much for useful tips there....
-will have a look into the lighting-situation later on-as I could need some much more light moving around shady places (junkyards etc)
-have some nice old Marchal and Cibie add-ons (the ones with the small nipple/tit/dagmar in the middle)but think these look a bit 'busy' and over the top -plus they ruin the extremely low Cw- or drag-coefficient of Roffen! -R.

Hi Reidar, sounds like you are convalescing well - good strategy to take a sunshine holiday break - it's a winter wonderland here in blighty as well - a little bit of snow appears to send our great nation back to the Stone Age. Don't take any notice of these requests for pix - 99.9% of us don't post personal pix of self or family and for very good reasons - this is'nt facebook, thank heavens (personal privacy is becoming a rare and precious commodity). We have pm's and email for this very purpose. I thought it would'nt be long before you managed to find a way to fire up the Roffenmobile - you're never short of ingenuity  Good to here from you again. :):)

40% Brian 40%

That's roughly what percentage of posts don't include pics - Without pics threads are dull - even a pic of a rotten rear rear door is more interesting than Rob de Banque's thread just telling us he has a green 1982 GTL with a rotten rear door, does anyone have one going spare?

As I don't know the difference between a TL's condenser and GTL's fog lights, I post up daft stories with fab Renault 4 art - Are you suggesting I should post all my threads and fab art up on facebook and send Pepper a pm with a pic of my car in the snow as per last week?

I don't care if Reidar ever puts up a pic of himself sitting on his R4 bonnet or a pic of Mrs R in the driving seat but one of my great interest is experiencing other mad Renault 4 owners lives and I think you will find that we would all like to see a new pic of Reida's R4 on some snowy outing, like our chums in Bosnia and Serbia do?

Whether he would like to show us a pic of himself is up to him, but before I set off to Norway in my Renault 4 to see him, I would like to know he is not 114 years old as that would make him twice my age and that would mean he was potentially twice as clever as me..mind you I am related to Darwin by marriage, so my children should be OK!!

So there we are, enough said, and as its nearly Valentines day here are some Roses for your wife....

I think Brian was really talking about pictures of self and family. You can be anyone you like on the internet so long as you don't post pics of yourself. I would find it very hard to keep up the pretence of being a 22 year old glamorous model. Only my closest friends know I'm actually 35.

BTW Captain van Rouge and I were in the forest yesterday and Claude got stuck in the mud. So I had to go and find the local farmer who brought his big tractor to drag us out. I wish I had had my camera with me then!

HELLO Brian! better watch out if there's snow&ice in Geordie-toon..
You didn't tell..Did you secure the Beemer allright-Hope you did as you sounded over the moon about it!
I see your point re pixes so will only send flurry photos showing unidentifiable bodyparts in lowQ so no fear of ending up in home made porn-flick (especially if not there in person) -R.

Uhh-No fear ian-Not 114 just yet! Still fairly young and innocent at age 54 so think we will get on nicely. As long as there's a dry spot outside we can crawl under Roffen and his brethren lurking outside here-I'm not hard to please-so if ever you take a wrong turn in life that end you up in Norwayland......

Hi Reida, got the LT supercruiser :cool (boys and their toys.....) - at 59 i'm now enjoying my third or fourth vehicular mid-life crisis - I've lost count. I'm not sure of my I.Q level - not quite 'ga ga' yet! - I'm still just about managing to keep up with all you youngsters - my superior age and stupidity gets me through most situations.;) The weather...................:shock::shock: I owned a saab 900 many years ago and it had a spare pair of wheels fitted with snow tyres -we had a couple of severe winters at that time and these tyres, although narrow tread, were amazing - much improved breaking. Unfortunately these tyres are currently illegal for use here but I think they should now be allowed. I've still got a set of snow chains somewhere in the garage but they were terrible to use - useless on ice.:o

Hopefully I've managed to upload this pic:o
KEEP UP THE GOOD WOORK IAN! I'm an ex mad Ren4 owner now but if nobody objects I'll hopefully now be more able to attend future ren 4 outings in the sunnier south.

Hi Brian-Congrats to a very tidy looking Beemer! guess it's got a fraction more power than the previous Jawa huh..
Fyi there's no such thing as an EX-R4owner only ones in-between or looking-for right? I mean now you have such a nice scooter why shouldn' you have the Ultimate-in-Personal transportation as well..
-R.

It would be lovely to meet you. Can you make it to Kent on the second bank holiday in May? Otherwise this year feels like a good year for the first ever northern R4 and BMW motorcycle meet.

It would be great to meet Malcolm but this weekend is problematic:( I've finally located a calender and this May bank holiday weekend is the 23-25th. I am endeavouring to negotiate / wangle arrangements ;) with my better half, to enable me to head southwards to join yourself and others of the faithful. The goddess with whom I share every aspect of my life and being + worldly goods is, it seems, intent on persuading me to join her on an epic/gruelling 4 day cycle run all over God,s northern (very hilly) creation. Apparently this 170 mile outing will do me the world of good  It's also our wedding anniversary weekend. I fancy a two wheeled journey, but sans pedals. I shall update - this is definately a case of the 7 'p's. :)

3CV in SAUMUR (Maine et Loire Department)

Just a photo of one of my favourite holiday destinations to bring back thoughts of summertime. The Loire is a beautiful area to spend a couple of weeks and the town of Saumur is a wonderful base for exploring this region. At this time of year it's good to look back on holiday photos - it's not long now till Spring.
How is our wounded comrade Reidar? - we are anxious for a progress bulletin from our favourite viking. :)

Hi all! Finally back on my two feet-having a partyyyyy tonight so no-one here sees I'm still a bit unsteady -at least they won't know Why..
cought a guy having a p*** at Roffen-Literally!! he won't know what cause his rear-axle to stay behind when he comes get his car in the morning-Don't tell him I've chained it down to a big lump of tractor out back.
I think it should be made mandatory in traffic-school to show some Respect to R4's. Have to have THAT talk with my daughter WHO she brings home here.... Guess I have to tow his 2wheeler home in the morning so I will have a chat with him aswell.
Every action will have a REaction right??
-Hope all you guys&dolls have a Lovely weekend!! -Reid.

It's heartening to hear a rear axle will be removed for that transgression. It's a sin I tell you, yes it's a sin to pee on a Renault 4. At least that's what the Reverent Fredrick the Frog says.

Probably would be up to you to replace said rear axle, but that's not Fredrick's problem. He's happy, yes happy to hear you are back on both feet.

that little runt thought I didn't have him on my radar....
Got a nice pic of him IN FLAGRANTI -tomorrow I will staple the
evidence showing this little willy on every telephone-pole plus
the two local stores for all to see....
In addition I will charge storage-rent at Euro 25; a day for rear-axle
chain is hardened steel and I don't have no key for it.......
This same thing happened to me once before in Dorchester-a local farmer sniffed free beer at our BBQ -he took a leek at my car so we convinced him to go the Norwegian-way and have some Sink-Bombs (that is 96%pure moonshine) in his Already spiked beers..
farmers mum came over next mid-day asking what we've done to her son..Used to be up at 05:00 to plow ..not so today-She got him to his feet-barely at 12:00 then he took his BICYCLE out into the fields.
Consider myself very patient-exept when it comes to Roffen.............................................................................-R.

Hi Reidar that's twice you been made a convenience of - it seems this younger generation have no respect for fine machinery:shock:  your slight 'loss of serenity' is quite understandable. Errrrrrr..... back axle off + remove sump drain-off bolt + kilo sugar in petrol tank + 2000 hours community snow clearing(small shovel). Errrrrrrr....... that's about right.......... as it's a first offence.;)

Brian-Marra!! Hope you and Silver will see thousands of carefree races down that endless dry curvey road..
You're right-many youngsters don't seem to have an eye for perfection at all.Even our son fell victim to the Golf-syndrom buying a Golf I ...Where IS the world going to I ask ? Whert oh whert did I go So wrong??
-Little willy begged forgiveness today-I let him off easy as dad as it happens have this Huge tractor and Little willy told me he would get rid of all snow around the house here......
that's good community service to Me! also made it clear if he plan to come a-courting daugher again he must serve 3months of hang-around or prospect-duties which involves rubdowns and handmassaging of the Roffmobile... Fair enough? -R.
