Spark plug cylinder 2

Dumb question alert, but either my plug socket is particularly chunky, I'm being extra thick or you really can't remove the plug from cylinder 2 without removing the dizzy first?

Cheers
Nick

It has been known for the distributor to have been fitted wrongly and restrict acess
I have marked distributor to block with white marker in such cases and slackened clamp to change plugs
Do post a pic

You need more extension bars! Or one of those sockets with the wobbly end.

Got plenty of extension bars but the plug socket won't slide past the dizzy body far enough to slot onto the plug properly!

I'm already suspecting that dizzy is fitted wrongly, so will mark with tipex as per Paul's suggestion. Will get pic & post for info

Well I must confess I've never had an R4 from new and don't really know what was in their toolkit or even if they had one.
But the Dauphine, R10 and R12 all came with a tool roll with a couple of spanners, screwdrivers and a spark plug socket as pictured.
I just assumed Renault would have done the same with the R4.

That socket is just the best thing for getting into the plugs on a Ventoux engine.

Did Australia really get ventoux engines in R10 and R12
We were lucky even got cleon engines in R4 ☺
