Starter Motors

Hi All

I was wondering if anyone can advise me as to whether a three bolt hole long starter motor on a gtl is interchangeable with a three bolt hole short starter motor on a gtl. As it would make life far easier in terms of removal/fitting on a Left Hand Drive!

Any info would be gratefully received.

I fitted a short starter motor on the Rodeo and found the battery cable and the wire from the ignition switch needed to be extended. But if the wires reach to the new starter I can't see any problem with using the shorter one.
