stuck in france

Hi folks, currently stuck in Grenoble with my brother and a broken Toyota MR2 that will be broken until Weds at the earliest

I used to own a 4 speed 1100cc Renault 5 and have had a strange hankering for a 4 for some time. My brother speaks passable French and loves all things Gallic, so we have decided to look for a 4 (or failing that a 5) to drive home, just for the hell of it.

Any tips/advice?

I found a thread on here mentioning le bon coin, becoming very addicted to it every time I get on WiFi! I have found an absolutely mint condition 64,000km 1981 Talbot Horizon for €700 with CT, and a Renault 20 with CT for €600, but no 4's yet. I have ruled out series II 5's as they are cheaper in Britain than here.

The bit that I'm going to struggle with already being here is getting sufficient currency in my hands at a good rate, but I could see me coming back for one if this trip doesn't turn anything up, might need to rationalise the current fleet a bit too!
