Where are you?

You are in the cafe. Do you have a mug of coffee and a croissant to hand

one dimensional

I like a good laugh,even at myself!?
having only just learnt to drive a computer&living in a rural world. For me
the sun rises on one side of my land & sets on tother! It never dawned on
me that Clementines cafe didnt have some greasy spoons and a dustbin!?
When an interlectual says"I'm a little damaged& somewhat deflated!"my
down to earth reply is "bring it in the workshop & ill sort it& blow the tyres up!?"
My kids are trying to get me onarse book & twatter;so that I can talk to one
daughter in Australia& another in Blighty....but I fancy that would be a bridge too far?
Renault 4's are good vehicles;but are sadly dissapearing in France. The collector
car brigade are few in number compared to UK. You see plenty of Traction's
& a few Mehari's /HY's The government has made a monumental effort to
encourage Mr Frog to get rid of his old banger & buy a new one!? Thus all
'collection' cars have been at risk of being gobbled up! Like melting down the
crown jewels for the weight in Gold.

Where are these scrap yards full of old cars in France. We need to buy the whole place

most of them gone!

Where are they? A lot have gone in the crusher, due to higher scrap prices.
A normal scrappy would not be interested in stocking cars of that age.
So there will be an enthusiast with a great collection of one make or another. Sitting here now ,I can think of one chap with loads of DS citroen's
another with tons of 2cv's. Another odd individual with an assortment
that are not for sale ,even though they are rotting in front of him!
Also, the problem with the french is they think everything is worth top dollar!
A S/H wheelbarrow can be worth more than new because its full of manure!?
But if you ask me to locate some R4's,then normally we'll be able to locate someone with a pile of them.

Well i'm off to Laniscat in Brittany tomorrow so i will be keeping my eye open along the way although i don't think i need anymore at the moment but if one should pop up you never know, if only for the parts.

I would like a v8 traction avant or a Rosalie 15cv

Brittany

Bobble, good luck in Brittany. I live behind Dinard Airport&10kms from St Malo port. Just ask for the crazy englishman with all those old cars!
You are going down south of St Brieuc on the n164 & my reccommendation
to you is to stop any where you see an old established scruffy garage. Ask the
proprieter who has a collection of R4's in his area?

Mike 4. you have expensive tastes! Have seen several 15cvRosalie's,I
remember the 1st one that I saw,&being shocked at a FWD 6cyl set up!?
(built in he early 30's) Sadly Ive never seen a V8.I know they are 3.8litre's
rated at 22CV& again early 30's.(as rare as rocking horse manure) Amazing!
I believe somebody put a Pilot V8 in a 17 which behaved like an MGC with
duff shockers!(nose heavy)

Farmer john, That's the way i'm going but I do tend to drive at a leisurely pace when i'm over there so i can scan over the hedgerows of farms and villages as i go through them.
