Where to find heater hoses for a 1966 1123?

What does everyone do for 850cc heater hoses these days? There's a '66 here that could ideally do with some. It looks like Franzose do the radiator hoses but all they offer for the heater hose is a bending device.

Also it has an SEV distributor that could do with new points and cap. It's the tiny distributor fitted to the early cars. Do the Ducellier parts fit? Otherwise can anyone point me towards a source for the SEV bits?

Hi Malcolm, http://www.reno4er.de/nt_gummi.htm offer the following hoses for the smaller motors (in the table the items are marked "B" for "moteur Billancourt":
46.510 oberer Kühlwasserschlauch B 11,00€ (top coolant hose)
46.520 unterer Kühlwasserschlauch B 11,00€ (bottom coolant hose)
46.560 Wasserschlauch Heizung -> 10/75 B 10,00€ (heater hose ->10/75)
46.565 Wasserschlauch Eingang Heizung mit 90 Grad Bogen 11/75 ->
B 11,00€ (hose into heater with a 90° bend 11/75 ->)
46.566 Wasserschlauch Eingang Heizung B 11,00€ (hose into heater)

As both heater hoses on the small engines are straight with a 90 degree bend at the end, they are available from hardware shops here (and probably in the UK). Inner diameter is 16mm if my memory serves me correctly.

As for the SEV contact points and rotor arm, the answer is no, the Ducellier parts will not fit. The fixed contact is different, on the Ducellier it has a distinctive horse-shoe shape. The rotor arm is different, too, the Ducellier has a fixed cap carbon brush and a leaf-spring like contact on the rotor arm, while the SEV is the opposite way: spring loaded carbon brush and coventional rotor arm.

I never had any problems finding these here (Ducellier parts are getting a little harder to find nowadays), if you cannot find them, let me know and I will get a set for you.

Malcolm, the Cap 44330, Points 22870 and condenser 35450 are still listed by Intermotor and available from those factors who stock or can obtain Intermotor parts.

Brilliant - the intermotor parts are in stock at my local motor factor. Where did you find the numbers Steve?

I'm confused by the hoses - wish they had pictures. I'm looking for the top and bottom radiator hoses and a pair of hoses with the bend. I think the top and bottom hoses changed at some point.

Thanks - I've added the link to the "where to find parts" page in the Guides section of the website - http://www.renault4.co.uk/r4-parts.htm I tried the same system at intermotor but it didn't work - that one does work.

Tried the motor factor the other day and nothing was listed. Phoned with part numbers and everything is in stock!

Morning, no doubt i am doing some thing wrong here, but when i put in my 845cc details how do i get to a parts list on inter motor? (it says no parts listed) The ducillier cap is the same as the one listed earlier on in the thread but my points are different.

However it is the condensor i need and i am guessing these are the same?

R2106 1971. will go and get all the other details off the dizi now.

thanks in advance, michael

upon closer inspection i will need to replace the cap and rotor arm too as they are shot. Doh...

Hi Steve,

Yes i clicked the 800 001 link.

I now have all the part numbers and will upload them shortly.

The Standard Motors tool is very good and at least if you get the Intermotor number then then parts could be obtained locally through a dealer. I don't think I know of any other company that produces pattern ignition parts any more.
It's always worth looking at the websites of the French and German dealers that specialise in R4 parts if none are obtainable here.

Ok, So being in the engine reconditioning trade i have this morning ordered all of the above parts from FPS (Ferrari's piston service), they are coming from the standard motor company.
All of the above was still listed with them but they had none of it there in stock but thats ok as im not using it this week.

I just hope the dizi cap is the right one as intermotor list 3. (the number i found was a cross referance from the number in my cap)

Right I have just ordered most of the new parts for the 1108 Femsa distributor, They should be here by tomorrow, However

My suppliers tell me they can no longer get hold of rotor arm Part Number 48690. Help, Im off to France in it on Friday....

Femsa rotor arm

Hi Mike
Pm me your address - I'll post you one. If I can get it in the post today, you should have it in time for your trip to France.
Andy

One other thing i have found is that Intermotor Ht Leads for the 1108cc engine have an odd housing on the spark plug end see http://partfinder.smpeurope.com/index.html?p=156&partid=73676&from=155 where are Intermotor Leads for the 845cc have the correct end and are very nice leads. http://partfinder.smpeurope.com/index.html?p=156&partid=73676&from=155 Hence so long as the lead to the coil is long enough i will be fitting 845cc Leads to the 1108cc.

I have not seen the odd ended leads on an R4 before, has anyone else?

Michael
