Wot, no oil filter?

Thought i would change the oil and filters, bought 5l of 20-50 and the recommended oil and air filter, but try as I might, could not find the oil filter. Thought it might be in the sump like my Citroen DS, but no, just a blanking plate adjacent to the petrol pump. What is going on, has someone stolen it?

Some early models were not fitted with an oil filter. Keep changing the oil regularly!

My 72 car has the 782 motor and it has never had an oil filter, but oil has to be changed every 3000 miles.
