Dear Friends.
My R5 is at one time rebuilt to cabriolet. It is running fair, but feul consumtion is extreme, and cannot be adjusted any further. (Wrong or damaged carb.)
Today there is a Solex 32 SEIA carb with no name-/ no plate on it. It fits with flange, top filter box, cables and hoses. But -----.
I made a complete renovasjon, incl. ultrasonic cleaning in details. Most look fine, eccept the emultion tube inside did not bite to its threds. Loose.

Motor is type 698/10 with 956cc.
Is 32 SEIA the right carb? Any correct no on all nozzles? Or is it another type to be more correct.
I can do all the work myself if I could find a used or new carb.

Does anyone have a carburettor to offer or can tell where to contact. I have send mail to companies in UK, Belgium and France but so far got no answers for two weeks and later.
Any proposals appreciated.

Best regards

Hello Jon
Looks a great car!
Is your engine 689/10 rather than 698/10?
If so, my French RTA manual says that the Solex SEIA is the right carburettor. Apparently the specifications were slightly different depending on the compression ratio (early 956 5s were 8.3:1; later 5s were 9.25:1 - I imagine yours will be the latter).
Just had a look at another manual, and it seems that the Solex 32DIS was also fitted (I had an R5 with the same engine as yours in the early 80s - too long ago for me to remember any details...)
Have you seen this?

I'm pretty sure I have a NOS Solex SEIA carburettor, but I think it's for the Mark 1 5 automatic - but could probably be adapted. I'll have a look tomorrow if you're interested.

What do you think.
I don't know the compression ratio. The car is at one point rebuilt. And no documentation sais what were done.

I have checked the Leboncoin link I got. Very good. I have registered, but havn't yet get it to work propperly.

But your carb. defenitely looks to be fine.
Is the trottle conection compatible, and the choke conection? Mine has manual choke, and trottle at the back side.
Discussing this further is great. But personal information and price etc. will better be outside the forum.
Believe you better know have to get in contact?
