    chrome strip

I got some of this trim from my friend Matt (google "Matt's Soft Tops"), who makes roofs for 2CVs. He uses it for the rear window (which is set into the roof material): It has a triangular profile, so needs the point removed (easily) with a stanley knife, then it fits perfectly. If you tell Matt...

    Headlights

I've been selling 412 / HB12 bulbs for years and didn't realise that they are also called 'H5'. (I've got yellow ones as well, if you want the classic the French look).

Does your R4 have a name?

I thought it might be Jeff & Chris. Yes. Good people to deal with.

R4 GTL RHD £3500 or make an offer!

I don't see the colour combination as a problem: some will like it some won't. (Although perhaps as Paul and I are both 2CVers, maybe the diverse individuality of 2CVs has influenced our view?)

R4 GTL RHD £3500 or make an offer!

I agree with Paul. I sold a RHD GTL last year and felt that I did quite well to get just under £3k. Judging by your description, it had fewer issues than yours. Having said that, prices seem to have risen a bit since then. You can advertise it (free) on my website, if you like. Most of the cars...

Perhaps I've found the car for me?

Great! (I was just concerned that you might not have sealed it wth anything after the T-cut, as some people don't realise that it's necessary).

Perhaps I've found the car for me?

I hope you re-protected the paint with something after T-cutting it

Any events in France, Belgium or the Netherlands?

    That sounds like the one.

Don't forget that you can advertise classic (especially French) cars for sale on my website, free, with photos. There's a raid-prepared (Toureg Trail) 2CV on there at the moment.

Any events in France, Belgium or the Netherlands?

It sounds like you're only intending to be there for the Saturday then (?). As I'll be selling in the flea-market each day, I want to be there for the whole event, so, (if I decide to come home for the 8/9 days between the two meetings), I'll probably get the ferry from Dover to Dunkirk early on...

Any events in France, Belgium or the Netherlands?

The Waggel meeting is not the ICCCR. I've been to the Waggel meeting a couple of times (several years ago) and agree that it was a bit weird (and I probably won't go again). The ICCCR is held in a different country every 4 years and is a huge meeting with thousings of participants. Last time it...

Any events in France, Belgium or the Netherlands?

You've got a 2CV too, haven't you Paul? German National 2CV meeting, near Belgian border, end of July. ICCCR, Netherlands, 2nd weekend in August. I'm sure either would welcome a R4. I believe there's also a joint 2CV & R4 meeting in Belgium over the last weekend in July, but I can't remember...

    Car insurance

Last year I compared about 10 different companies who offered agrred value classic car insurance. For my cover needs (4 classic cars, incl commercial vehicle and lhd, business use for my business and my wife's, breakdown cover including in Europe, etc), Peter James came top with level of cover &...

Classic car events in the South East

Disappointed. A couple of hundred 2CVs, some Panhards, a few Moggy Minors, a few Scamps, even a Teslar, but not one Renault at the Chichester meeting.

    Various parts wanted

What type are fitted to Renault 4 ? (before the plastic ones). Are they Cipa or Geco? What number do they have stamped on the back?

    Various parts wanted

Hi. Yes I have those in my website shop. The Cipa 54 is fitted to lots of late sixties/early seventies Renaults & Peugeots and Citroën DS Pallas. The kit comprises of a new grey surround in silicone rubber, a new convex glass and a closed-cell foam backing pad.
