This was last winter - the view isn't quite as good in summer when the trees are in full leaf.

Luckily Claude lives up the hill so is safe and sound - and we now have a lovely lakeside view :D

Roger If you are fitting a standard french number plate it should fit just above the cut out - the deeper UK number plates need to be cut/filed to allow the bonnet to open as reidalpine mentioned.

I would have thought, but I'm not certain, that the six month rule would be similar to the situation we were in when we moved to France with our cars. The cars were registered to us in the UK but we had to get the cars CT'd (MOT'd) and re-registered in France within 6 months.

The year in log books (and other documents) can sometimes be unreliable. According to the certificate of conformity for Claude he was first registered in 1987, the original warranty document gives the model year of 1989, he was delivered new (apparently), to the British Embassy in Cameroon...

I have a spell checker for most of my posts. She sits in her room reads my posts then tells me all the spelling mistakes. She also doubles as a grammer checker.

Bad new - yes they can fail it happened to one of our R4s but the good news is that even if they do fail the tailgate will stay shut and not fall off you just can't open it :( . They will repair with welding, Malcolm repaired ours so he is in a better position to tell you what's involved.
