    Reluctant sale Renault 4 GTL

Hi Martin and Emily, welcome to the forum and R4 ownership. I'll keep an eye out when I'm in the PZ area for your beautiful car, great colour. Do you know of Andrew Mcgraa of AMG Renault in Crowlas, our local R4 expert? Regards Brian.

    Fuel pump and filter

Hello Alfonso, I think that pump is the same as yours, it's just been photographed upside down. Also I believe it's for a Renault 5 which would have had a fuel return line, which is what the third pipe is for. You can blank it off, as it's not needed. Regarding a fuel filter, Renault often...

    Fossicking in the garage.

Hello folks. It's been a year since I did the gear linkage mod, and I'm happy to report it's worked well, and seems fool-proof. The car has been used quite a bit, a run to Beaulieu and also Tilford, so a good test, plus every-day usage. I've been tinkering a bit, but nothing too taxing, but one...

What engine oil for high mileage engine

I use Castrol XL20/50 Richard, but any good quality mineral 20/50 will do the job. I have made a habit of changing the oil and filter at around 3000 miles on all my cars over the years.

A GALLERY OF GORGEOUS - please contribute !

Bonjourno Giulietto, it's nice to see your Dad got the car fixed up for you, enjoy. Yes I'm hoping to make it to Italy next year. I feel a road-trip coming on, and having been to Siena a few years ago, I feel a return trip is required, but by R4 this time

Ah, another 4 coming to Cornwall maybe. Guess we all need to get together sometime, and with Derek Flavell of Renospeed down this way now, why dont we have a Devon and Cornwall meet up, say in the spring. Anyone interested?

    Beaulieu event Sunday

I got home on Monday at tea-time, after a 6 1/2 hour journey from Brockenhurst. Just sheer volume of traffic, but never mind, it was well worth it, to attend this great event. Not a bad turn out of 4s, 20 in all, and some cracking examples too, plus many other beautiful French motors. Looking...

    Anti-Roll Bar Help

Piet, that has now jogged my memory. It's a few years ago I acquired the F4 anti-roll bar, and it was on a wreck in a barn in deepest darkest France, and looking back it did look like a retro fitted item. I managed to modify the seating washers and fit it to the cast trailing arms on my previous...

    Anti-Roll Bar Help

That is strange Azazello, the F4 anti-roll bar I've used came off a van with the pressed-steel suspension arms, and with a bit of modification to the fitting clamps, it bolted to my cars cast arms using the tapped holes already there. I'm surprised your suspension arms aren't threaded.

    Anti-Roll Bar Help

It works well in all conditions, not that it didn't before. It's just that I wanted it to corner a bit flatter, which it does with these mods. Azazello, I would attempt to strip down this F6 axle you have, and use the torsion bars, which I believe are a bigger diameter, and also use the a-r bar.

    Anti-Roll Bar Help

Hi, I've got a Mk1 R5 Gordini anti-roll bar on my 4 GTL, yes it is 16mm dia. It made a big difference, but with an F4 rear one, 10mm dia, also fitted, it really transforms the car. Maybe not quite the soft ride usually associated with the 4, but cornering at speed doesn't feel like the door...
