Hi All,

I am trying to locate the Renault 4 that was used to drive my wife to the church on our wedding day. Reg PPE 322E. It was previously owned by Mark (who was on this forum and may still be) who I believe put it up for sale some years ago. Does anyone know if it is still going and whether it may at some point go up for sale again??

Any help would be much appreciated.

Pete

I have searched the previous forums and think it was a 1967 and not a 1968 as my thread suggested - apologies. Also found it looks to have gone to Australia which is very disappointing and maybe why there no more MOT and TAX records on it.

Hi Pete, I think you are right, it did go to Australia if I remember correctly.
We remember your wedding day well, as we used our R4 Marigold to transport the bridesmaids to the church. Happy memories of a wonderful day.
Best wishes from us both, Brian and Rita.

Early ‘E’ reg would be a 67 car as this letter was only used during the early half of 1967, 1966 was the last year the early registration letters were calendar years, ie dated the car to a year, after ‘E’ cars could be resold by the Arthur Daily's as a 1968/69 model on secondhand forecourts, as the letter no longer denoted one calendar year but two.F onwards gave us the opening line ‘ Its a 68 model but actually it’s a late 67 car’ to listen to from salesmen.

Hi Brian - thats right - we have a lovely picture on our wall of Marigold! The girls are doing well, the eldest is now 18 and driving herself to school these days! Do you still have Marigold? Thank you for the wishes - hoping you are both well.

Yes - E reg - 1967 as you say. Shame its gone to Oz - was hoping one day it would be in our possession as it was a beautiful car - the blue '67 and the yellow of Marigold made for a combination of wedding cars for us on the day!

Hi Pete, we are ok thank you, bit older, few more aches and pains. Blimey, one of your girls driving, how time flies. It's quite scary how time goes by. So nice you have a picture of Marigold, but unfortunately she and I were in a accident back in 2015, but she got passed on to a friend, Renault4mad on here, and he rebuilt her. She was his wedding car in 2017, so she lives on. I bought a 85 4GTL that year that I still own, and I've had a few trips abroad in Geneveive, including a couple to Italy.
Best wishes Bry.FB_IMG_1516709163409.jpg
