I'm looking for a drive shaft for my GTL and the person who is advertising them says that they are for a 2nd generation Renault 4.
Mine is a 1980 GTL. So what is 1st and what is 2nd?
Are their any special dimensions that I should specify?
Many thanks!!

I think they are refering to a post 3 speed r4 ? your gtl has male splines each end and is the same as a r5. I have plenty of drive shafts in stock if you can run to the price of a courier. check out envoimoncher...

Hi Montenegro, I would be more than happy to buy the drive shafts from you.
Last week I had to brake extremely hard to avoid a cat running across the road. Luckily my brakes are good and I have new tyres as well. My car stood on its nose and even all 4 sliding windows slid forward. The cat thankfully escaped but after that I have the dreaded tuk-tuk-tuk noise
Would you prefer me to first remove one of the drive shafts, measure the length and count the number of splines?

Are you sure it's shaft as you may have got a flat spot on the tyre when the brakes locked on

Thanks Paul, I wish it were so, it's not continuous but the noise is there when I corner or go uphill. At times the vibration travels right up to the steering wheel. No problem at all when I'm cruising on a flat straight road.
