Hi R4 Crew - another reminder to all that this glorious and FREE event is fast approaching - previously attended by Brian Cornish4 member who had a great old time of it. If ever you fancied a driving holiday down France to Italy - now is the time.....and it will have cooled off a bit too!

Pity you can't make it Lobster, you would love it. The next one will be in 2027. Just remember "carpe diem", I'll say no more about that.

If any of you classic Renault enthusiasts are planning on attending the event, registration is now officially open. The first 100 applicants will receive a souvenir baseball cap on arrival at the venue. It is open not only to the 4 and it's derivatives, but also any pre 1995 classic Renault. See you there?

Well, I made it to the Festival. I meet up with friend Simon on the way at Modane, on the French/Italian border. We had a visit to Milan, including the Alfa Romeo museum, and a sightseeing tour care of another friend Luca, also a fellow R4 owner.
Next day on to the main event, and meeting up with more friends old and new, including Richard and Ben, great to meet you chaps. A visit to a hill top village and a vineyard were part of the weekends activities all rounded off with the prize giving.
Yours truly got 2nd prize for longest distance travelled. 1st was two Norwegian guys, and third a lovely couple from Southern Ireland.
I headed north on the Sunday, spending the night at Angelo and Lorenas home, friends from the 2017 Kent Run. Next day Simon and I tackled the Passo Stelvio, the cars breezed it. I had to adjust the mixture on mine, thin air and too much fuel.
Then into Switzerland (Umbraile Pass), we said our goodbyes, Simon heading for Germany before going home, and me pointing the 4 in the direction of Brittany to catch the ferry to Plymouth.
Total mileage 2800, mostly trouble free. There's an annoying knock from the back suspension, and a complaining driveshaft, but we made it home in one piece.
The next Italian R4 Festival is in 2027, not sure if I'll make it, me age is catching up with me, but who knows, perhaps.20250918_111011.jpg20250921_124425.jpg20250923_145952.jpg20250923_105835.jpg20250922_111215.jpg20250926_131419.jpg20250923_112941.jpg20250920_162101.jpg20250917_095816.jpg20250918_161621.jpg

Very nice! I'd love to do this, maybe next time? If I did the ferry to Rotterdam and then allowed a couple of days to get there via Germany and Switzerland then same again coming back it should be doable in a week?

Incidentally, I went to Milan a couple of months ago and visited the Alfa Romeo museum, its very good isn't it!

Hi Lobster, I allowed two weeks to do the round trip, roughly 400km per day. I know for myself one week would be impossible. Give yourself more time and enjoy the sights sounds and tastes of this beautiful country.
Yes the Alfa museum was great, I could have spent all day there.
