Alpina Alloy Wheels

When I purchased my R4F4 van it had a set of Alpina wheels fitted. These are the ribbed variety. Since then I purchased a set of plain Alpina wheels.
These came painted in various shades of silver and grey. I experimented with having red wheels in the plain type.
Pictures attached.

I am planning to get these bead blasted to clean all the paint etc., off. Am considering powder coating in silver or maybe white.

What was the original finish on these? Was it polished then clear coated? Any information appreciated.
Thanks

Picture of how I think the wheels would have been originally.

uppermost ones ar ALPINE-ones(Don't mix in BMW and Alpina here!)
They looks nice.they came in anthrasite and gun-metal grey I think
second ones looks like-manhole-covers (IMHO)
-but as always it's all in the eye of the beholder.. -Reid.

Those are the original second series R5 Alpine alloy ones.
The other ones are the R5 Alpine Turbo alloyed ones aka paddle boat wheels, the BMW E30 M40 wheels looks quite similar to those though they will not fit ;)

Thanks for comments.
Sorry for Alpina rather than Alpine. Mentally corrected now.

Were the first series painted then lacquer or were the wheels just polished? Does anyone know??

Progress on the wheel front. Have had my set of R5 Alpine wheels blasted to clear various layers, and colours, of paint cleaned off.

How do I get to the polished stage as shown in second picture? All comments appreciated. Thanks.

Polish stage for the alloy wheels, by using a cotton polish disc, wax and a rotary device :D

Ive just bought the same alloys, im going to polish them too, You'll need to sand them first after sand blasting. 400 grit on a orbital sander, wet flat with 800 then 1000, 1500 and 2000 will make the polishing a breeze, mirror finish, just did these for a friend...IMG_20180330_163622.jpg IMG_20180330_175203.jpg

Hi, is it possible to get some document to make this alpine wheels road legal in EU? With tires 165/65/13 on R4 GTL 1987?
