Hi all,

I do have a problem with my 1970 R4's back suspension.
When driving and getting to a bump or slightly uneven road the backside of the car began to swing.
The rear dampers are still in good condition, what could be the problem.
Secondly when I reach speeds of 60mph the backside began to vibrate rapidly, than I have to reduce speed to get it normal again.
Please help.

If the vibration is very bad it is possible there is air in the rear dampers. See http://www.renault4.co.uk/tech-dampers.htm

You can tell by jacking the rear wheels off the ground and seeing if there is any damping in the wheel for 10mm each way.

After reading the article, it could be the rear dampers that starts to fail.
