Clutch adjustments

I've just got back in the blue GTl after months of work and noticed the clutch engages smoothly but very high on the pedal travel. I seem to remember that this means a worn clutch plate but does it ALWAYS mean that or could the adjustment be wrong?

Richard, it sounds like it's getting to the end of it's life. However, do check that there is about 1/4" free play on the pedal and adjust the cable if necessary. Only worry about replacing the clutch if you can't get into gear or there is slippage.
