Clutch cable removal

I'm trying to remove the clutch cable, and the nut (top of picture) is completely inaccessible. Did Renault really design it like this?

Hold the nut with a spanner and twist the cable over and back. Never mind the nut, did Renault really design that bracket!!

No way, somebody fitted this clutch cable, probably because he could not find the correct one?
The original system had a bellcrank, roughly where your cable bracket is, and from this to the clutch release lever, motion was transmitted by a rod. The adjusting nuts are still on the same place, and equally inaccessible from the top :-). Try reaching them from below, it's far easier.
