Hi all
Can anyone tell me what coolant I need for R4 gtl….preferably one that I can get in Halfords

Hi Sandra

I have been using Bluecol (blue coolant/antifreeze) on my R4's since the 1980's. This would be my first choice. However, I'm finding it harder to locate Bluecol these days. Last time, I resorted to using Granville (blue) as I could not find any Bluecol at the time. It has been in the radiator for a couple of years and I have no complaints.Time for a flush and refill.

Carplan and Prestone also do a blue. I cannot vouch for them as I have not tried them myself.

Thank you, I’ll see what I can find

Glaceol RX Type D
Renaults own which apart from preventing frost damage equally importantly prevents corrosion and dissimilar metal interaction deterioration ( Piston Liner Alloy Engine Block)
It is premixed so no guessing ratios.
It used to be bright green but is more bluish now.
Kind Regards
Ian.

Hi. This is the coolant I use, recommended for older types of engine design, and readily available at most motor factors or on line.
This one is ready mixed, and long lasting.20260306_133026.jpg
