Hi all, had a leaking sump plug on the gearbox (1.1 GTL) but I've now realised it's leaking higher up from both sides did some searching on the forum and found a thread with a similar issue relating to Diff seals leaking. Would a pair of these be the correct ones to order for this job and anything else I might need you think whist I'm at it? Just trying to avoid stripping everything out & finding I'm short of something. Happy New year all whilst I'm here. Should finally get my car back on the road after purchasing 2 years ago.. becomes Mot/Tax exempt from April Thanks all

The oil seal is behind the differential bearing adjustment nut: unscrew the retaining flange and then make a mark on the nut and the gearbox so that you can screw it back on in the same way when reassembling.

Be sure to count the number of turns while unscrewing; this will be used to properly adjust the differential during reassembly.

it's also a good idea to remove and replace the differential nut's O-ring seal (the photos here were taken on a removed gearbox). This seal only costs a few euros and avoids the inconvenience of having to remove the differential nut again in case of a leak.

..and you need the tool

The seal you have posted is the input shaft seal, which is much smaller. Differential output seal dimensions are 36x54x8.

Many thanks thought it was poss a bit small in relation to the driveshaft, cars in storage at the moment. Sourced the correct parts & O rings via the forum so thanks all & a Happy New year
