Door plate

Hi all
Can someone refresh my memory on this?
I need at some stage to do some work on the bodywork behind the plate in the photo. What I can't remember is what the arrangement is behind it - are the bits the bolts go into captive enough not to fall down behind the door frame?

It's a rectangular plate that is held loosely in a recess in the pillar, that does not allow it to fall down. So no need to take precautions when removing the door striker.
