Engine and gearbox refurb

Hi I'm planning a trip to Mallorca late next year ,I am wanting my r4 tl 845cc engine refurbed ,would anyone know of anybody ,who would be willing to undertake this ,also if anybody could give me a rough estimate ??

Depends what level of refurb you had in mind... Not that I'm offering but someone might if you can offer more details of what needs doing.

You could spend 800 ish if you had pistons liners and crank oil pump etc replaced more maybe if head needed work then clutch water pump etc then fit new radiator if original as a rebuilt engine deserves clean water and will aprecitate being kept cool

If it isn't don't fix it!!!

Give it a full service, make sure you have spares like points, rotor arm and distributor cap, and off you go.

The engines that have given me most trouble in my life are where they've been rebuilt, if I can I always try and buy a second hand engine if mine does happen to go wrong and fit that.

Problem is pepper the last uk sold 845 cars were about 1980
After then gtl and f6 all 1108cc
When a renault 4 was just another old car most got scrapped 20
years ago
I never used to keep 845 engines as most times I would upgrade to 1108 r6 or r5 1289
There was a perfect engine in my yellow peril but long gone now
The other reason for the shortage of 845 is the con rods get used in Austin 7 race engines and the last remaining engines I had fetched 200 each just for parts running or not

Thanks all ,it has an oil leak coming from somewhere underneath ,which I would need sorting out a speedo that's running backwards ,a carb fitting ,a rear axle mounting fitting and a really good service ,the reason I am wanting someone to do the work is I run my own business work long hours ,if I started the work I would fear once started it would never get finished ,any help would be really appreciated
