Whats your opinion of the Estafette? I have just been offered a 1973 one.
I believe they are akin to R4 and Dauphine?
I just put the correct spelling in :roll:and found a couple of posts about it.
Get to look around it 2moz..
Also get my lovely DS back yippee I ve missed the old gal...

I always wondered what is like driving a van with a 845cc engine...loaded!

WHAT A COINCIDENCE! I'm currently reading a "Motoring Which" from April 1964 that covers the Renault Estafette camper van conversion! it's compared with the B.M.C. Bluebird, a Ford Thames Airborne, the Bedford Romany, an Commer and the V.W. Devonette. Odd to think the Renault Estafette was officially imported into the U.K. As a caravan its layout was good, with a well equipped kitchen although it took come assembling! It would sleep 2 adults & 2 children in comfort and had good storage. Maximum speed was 60 mph & the foot brake was poor; a pressure of 100kg on the pedal from 60 mph didn't produce 80%g braking. The hand brake was excellent, though! Economy was 26.5 mpg on a run, 25 round town. More information if you want it.

What's all the more weird is that, during my days as a freelance mechanic I used to look after a L.H.D. Estafette van in east London, that had been converted into a mobile café & coffee van (what else?) I kept it on the road for many years.
