was contacted via PM on here by other member that pleaded for assistance to supply him with pixes/scans of a real rare orig.box
from one of my Sanchis-R4F4-models...(we're talking toy-cars here)
-Allegedly he had several of this model but sadly lacked the boxes
-in addition he clearly stated he had NO intention of reproducing the
box for furter distribution -All his words!
Now- most of you on here probablyw could agree that model/toy-collectors like myself must have a nut loose so should be protected from themselves..
-my medicinal-regime:wink::wink: makes it hard for me to argue this -but....
I responded via PM on here in what I hope was a polite&clear way that I have spent some 30yr's building a collection and so would have no part in repro-box(es) being made . No other remarks was made.....
On a stricktly personal level I Hate these Repro-boxes as down the line some non-informed buyer WILL end up buying a mint/boxed model ending up feeding someone who of course "had NO clue the box was a fake and wasn't original" -Mind you I'm not saying that This member had That trick in mind, but repro-boxes tends to corrupt and ruin what is supposed to be a fun nice hobby.
Checking out ebay/f today and what do I find??
(Could you have knocked me down with a feather-Uhh 'fraid NOT!)
The one and same member selling Repro-boxes at Euro25 a pop
(representing at least 2 other pretty rare 4L-models)
-hope he split the proceeds with whomever supplied him with the materail from their original boxes..
-If this was a plain proper and honest business-only proposal he would make this clear without the "tales of woe"
(What gave him away was his elaborate embroidering re the models -and variants thereof (fictionals) he had -but sadly no boxes for..

I dont think there is any known cure for the collecting habit, I'm glad to say.
