Faulty speedo/clock help?

[Q plate]

Hi all I think the speedo unit inside the clock has failed 84 GTL operating the cable with a drill I've got quite a clonking noise and it wont rise above 10 mph. Has anybody had a similar issue or have a set of clocks available. I'll do some research in the meantime see if there's any specialist repairers.. thanks

Hi

Sometimes overtime with exposure to heat/sunlight, the needle curls outwards towards the perspex and catches against it. This might not be your issue. If it is, it would be a case of taking the perspex off and carefully snipping the offending end of the needle off.

Thanks Andy, I've stripped it apart and can't see a problem with any of the worm gears etc I'm thinking it might be a problem with the cable outer so have ordered one will be in touch if it's not
