Fuel problems

My R H D 4 GTL has been standing in a heated garage since November , with me going to start and move around every 3/ 4 weeks. Went 2 weeks ago and would not start , no petrol coming from pump . I have since been told , it probably gauze on pick up in tank , rather than pump . The car had new pump and all fuel lines from tank , is blocked tank pick up a common fault and any easy fixes ?? Can anybody give me tips/ guidance please

could you stick the line leading to the pump into fuel directly, ie rule out tank?

a new genuine quality valeo or OE manufacture pump or Chinese rubbish ?
