God! and have I... "a passer by" just offered me an EX La Poste R4F4. I now have a bright (dull) yellow van on my drive My wife just did this:roll:

Silly! Same thing happened to me a few weeks ago. Far too many of the damned things knocking about now, though at least I might be able to route one or two towards suitable homes.

Is the van in decent condition? Would be great to see one or two of the classic La Poste F4s preserved.

Talking of preservation - how did you get on with that R3?

I have obtained said vehicle (R3) just need to pick it up as my trailer has been loaned out and as usual said person hasn't returned it
Yes the La Post is OK the front bearings on one side are shot and squeal and squawk terribly, the rear bearings rumble, unless that is just a van:roll:
Both front wings are battered but I have 2 new left still. BUT the chassis is absolutely nickel as they say here It is not undersealed but has a black satin paint finish that is unmarked. I put it on a ramp and could not find one rust spot underneath. The engine starts on the key although a bit tappety with an annoying rattle somewhere it has done 124000klm, everything serviceable has a Renault label or badge.

It needs some work to get it through the CT but it will be good..
