New to this forum.
Have a lot of cars some of them are Renault. Have four R4s in in different states a R8 Major and two Geoletts.
Living in Sweden and my 1962 R4 is the oldest still alive her. Two of them are from 72 white with red interior and my 1975 green metallic and brown interior, metallic color have fading away from the outside due to wheather and wind. All cars needs bigger or smaller repairs. The 1975 I have used some last two year but engine start leaking water between cylinders and block. So all engines I have need some attention. I do all work myself and projects have no deadline.
Have the 845cc engine and not so easy find correct parts. Ordered gasket set and got too a newer engine.
This winter I want to get my R8 from 1965 roadworthy. It have been standstill for more than 40 years. I bought it three years ago and now it feels I have time for this. Started up engine two years ago sound ok but everything else have to be sorted. Geolettes is something for the future.
Have cars of other brands that compete in time and money, but my goal is to make the R8 mechanically ok and roadworthy this whinter and get one or two 845cc engines working.
Don't know where to put this thread so I start here.
Best regards from Sweden

Hello and welcome to the forum!

Your collection sounds amazing. Please post some photos when you can :)

Morning pics on the others.
the green metallic looks like browngreyred on the outside and very nice green inside were sun and wind haven’t reached. I bought this and the better 1972 from a old man who should use it as a spare car. I thought it was too good for spares so I welded root in chassis and fixed all mechanics and got it MOT I think you say. Drive it a year or two before the paperwork under the cylinders said goodbye. Now it’s sitting waiting for engine to be fixed.

This 1972 white with red interior was the car that the old guy was aiming to fix. Timing chain and sprockes have given up. So engine need renovation and some welding to the chassis is needed. I think I split body and chassis on this one when I have time for it. All cars need some attention with the welding machine but have withstand Swedish winters with salted roads well.

The other 1972 white/red I bought together with the 1962 from a 90 year old architect who have had them since new. This one he hit tree stump and ruined front chassis. The frame for the lover right wishbone is so bent that the driveshaft pops out. I think it can be fixed with some portopower but for now it’s spare car.

This is the car I hopefully give love and attention to this winter. Some root, everything have sized and needs attention. Bought it some years ago and a lot of parts are in boxes so maybe not 100% complete but generally ok nick. Engine already upgraded to 1300cc. I started it up two years ago and I sounded OK.
Everting is on a tiny budget. I do everything by myself like I do with all my cars. I have skilled friends I can get an extra hand from or borrow some machines that I need.

After I finish the reparations on the green R4 and got it MOT. I used it as a daily driver even with a trailer behind a very versatile car. With a trailer (max 500kg)behind no problems to go 90km/h on highway. 4 persons can ride ok. It’s strong heating capabilities in the swedish version so it works great even in wintertime. If only two persons in car most stuff goes in the big space after folding the seats in not enough put it on the roof rack. 8548FFB3-FAB9-4509-BD9F-72AC943FC537.jpeg

Bought gasket set brand Viktor Reins.
Everything looks good except cylinder shim/gaskets are not paper typ but in some plastic material see picture.
Anyone have experience from this type of cylinder shim/gasket.
Best regards from Sweden
