Ignition switch

Has anyone got - or know where to get - an ignition switch for a Renault 4 GTL?

The one on my car is 'sticking', that is, not always allowing the key to turn it, and now maybe not switching the the power to the starter solenoid. The solenoid is not being activated by the switch, last time it happened it was a bad connection on the solenoid but I thought I had cured that........!

I don't know if this helps, but sometimes mine jams unless I wiggle the steering wheel to help the steering lock disengage.

If you want a second-hand one, I'd suggest searching leboncoin. The switches are called Neiman in French.

Hi Tom, thanks for the suggestion, have looked on leboncoin and there are a couple listed. I can get a new one at something like 192 euros, it depends I suppose whether the ones on leboncoin are suitable, and whether the sellers answer the phone? I was hoping someone might have one or knew where one was going at a reasonable price!

Hi Chris, perhaps your key is a bit worn, does it open all your doors OK?
It's probably worthwhile to remove your ignition cylinder and give it to a locksmith to make a new key
