Turns out to be foolhardy, but at the price I paid it was worth a punt. Derek Flavell (Renospeed, 0208 694 1435, 07816586642) knows of the car and can tell you better than I what needs doing. He says it’s not beyond recovery but I, being recently redundant, don’t have the necessary funds. Currently in Sydenham, South London, it’s up for grabs, for restoration or spares. It needs to be taken away swiftly. Derek tells me this Jersey registered (J53245) R4 GTL in jade requires, at the very least, welding to the front rails and repair to the hatchback hinge roof area (n/s). The interior is tatty, the engine is running on three cylinders and the body panels are somewhat dimpled. No MOT, no tax. I would like to recover my minimal costs BUT it’s more important to save the car. So, please call me asap (it really does need to go in a flash) on 0208 854 0110 or 07913556834.
