Model plate needed

Hi!

My girlfriend inherited her fathers red R4 in perfect running condition. Only major thing missing is the back door model plate with Renault logo and text Renault 4. I found an old R4 from local car graveyard, but its model plate didn't fit in our R4. What other parts should I salvage from the unlucky vehicle?

Our R4 is model R1123 with oval plate number:
44 144
1551082

Registration documents say year 1975, but nobody remembers for sure.

Distance of the two attachment holes is 120 mm.

Thanks for the wonderful forum! It's been a great beginners help.

Hi Lauri, welcome to the forum.

It's the later black plastic badge with silver lettering that you need. (I measured 123mm very quickly as it's raining here at the moment. The slightly earlier chrome ones have a hole spacing of 80mm). I'd expect it should read "Renault 4 L" or maybe "Renault 4 TL".

I've seen them on French eBay recently. See http://www.renault4.co.uk/sale/parts.htm for Renault 4 parts on eBay in much of Europe.

:hug:Hi Lauri, nice to hear somebody other from mothercountry on this site.

mine is from 77's and actually some say that acc instrument panel it is late 76model
1st row=R1123, 2nd row=41144, third=171127
mine is for sure a 4L, i think you must have soft seats?and maybe rear side windows can be opened?

angel say that "Is your R4 an L or a TL? Do the rear windows open? Or you can look at the second row of the oval plate number, if it starts with 43 it is a TL (conventional seats), if there is a 45 it's an L (tubular seats)."..but it did not match mine and not on yours becauuse i have 41 and you 44?
