A company called Discovery magnets (www.discoverymagnets.co.uk) claims to be able to increase the torque and reduce the emmisions of your car with it's 'little gizmos', has anyone tried one and what was your impression?
Reason I ask is that an extremely cynical motor mechanic friend of mine is raving about one he's recently fitted to his Saab 96 rally car, (his daughter bought it for him), he says that he can now run it on Tesco's finest and instead of constant pinking, he only get's the occasional one. On 95 octane nothing, whereas before he had pinking every so often.

I've actually got one of these! It was fitted to my Red Renault 4 in place of the fuel filter when I bought it. Whipped it off and put a filter back on and the car ran a lot better.

If these gadgets were so good, everybody would have one, and manufacturers would fit them to new cars.....
