Hi, just joined. Can anyone age my r4 from the photo's in my album? Is it an early 60's model? No badges and I am yet to drag it out of the undergrowth! It's in SW France and was donated to me by a local farmer who wants rid.
There are a couple of other wrecks in his woods, but nothing much of them remains. Thanks.:)

Here's the album http://www.renault4.co.uk/forum/album.php?albumid=288

Early dash makes it '66 or earlier. But the remains of 4L badge on the back make it '65 or earlier.

Are there any chassis numbers or oval plate numbers on the bulkhead in the engine bay? Or is there a chassis number on the edge of the seat mounting crossmember when you open the right side door?

Overgrown r4

Hi Malcolm,
Thanks, but I won't be able to look for about 3 weeks as I'm working in the UK at the mo. My son who took the photo's, said he can't get the passenger door open enough to get in and the drivers is blocked in by saplings etc. As you can see it's pretty overgrown.

I'll work on the 66 or 65 age for now. Once I get there I'll get the chain saw out!! Cheers.

Andy.
