So, sitting in a Saint Malo creperie after 1200 miles in 4 and a bit days from St M down to a commune called Blandin down near Lyon.
4 blokes and kit in Claude the GTL.
Findings-
Super comfy (of course)
Carb icing is real( that hose is for a reason)
An old electrical shop will sell you a hoover hose for 10euro ( a tayou d’ aspirateur if you need one)
Flat out autoroute runs of 3 plus hours are loud, but you seem to get fuel vapourisation or gelling for a but after you pull away from refuelling ( a carb strip and filter change outside the hotel sorted that)
New parts are crap! My new alternator died after 180 miles in the uk meaning a run back to meet my wife with the 40 year old original…and the new fan switch died outside Lyon meaning a delve in the boot to make a bridging switch at the dash…
Anyway, great fun, some great food and my brothers all have an admiration for our little cars!
