Back from a trip to Orkney and everything went reasonably well just one small hiccup at perth ( fuel blockage) 15 mins later and were off again and arrived with 5 mins to spare at the ferry port phew !
anyway had a brilliant time weather was a bit windy and stormy ( apparently the tail end of hurricane Bertha) but we had more sunshine than bad weather and spent a few days walking and seeing the sights.
Met and had a chat (and a cuppa) with Stan really nice guy and was great to meet and chat with him
( Hi Stan, might be coming back in October ) as i said the little van went well 1900 miles and averaged
49.8 mpg with all the camping gear in it, so i think it proved itself ready for Thenay next year hurra!
not going to bore you with loads of pics but here's a few.

Hi Ndelilio and Wombelina thanks, yes it was really nice and as i said it's windy, we went from Gills Bay to St Margaret's Hope which is on South Ronaldsay and takes about an hour and is £65 for a car and two people, we made our base about 2 miles from the port (which is very small) and travelled around from there.
Wombelina if you're going to rent it's cheaper after September and depending on what you like to do ? rest and relax or sight seeing (and there's plenty to see, it's all very nice but i was told that the north is more fertile than the south i believe this as there are more trees in the north, we travelled all over (did just over 370 miles) the mainland but not go to any of the islands this time but maybe next time in October (yes we're going back) anyway a few more pictures for you.
