Overhearingnsymbol on dashboard

Hi guys.

Doing a big drive from Croatia to Germany

Done good for 4 hours or so but now Overheating Symbol comes on and disappears

Any tips?

No bad smells , coolant is fine .

Keep the heating on in the cabin, if you can bear it!

It could be the timing is out. Or the cable for the overheating lamp is shorting somewhere.

What’s the switch for the heating or am I missing it

Sorry, I meant rotate anticlockwise the knob inside the car for turning on the heating of the cabin. It's the bottom-right knob in this photo on this website:

That will cause the inside of the car to get hotter of course, but might help your engine to cool down a little bit.

Possible areas to investigate:

Radiator fan not cutting in at correct intervals (investigate radiator switch)

Check thermostat
