I put my cylinderhead back on my 1991 tl today so drove to the end of the World.

Well, down the road anyway to the Nature Reserve. It is quite good on the snow.

She purrs like a kitten now the valves have been re-seated and the head skimmed.

The engine internals look like new.

My cylinderhead man said two exhaust valves seats were badly pitted, the rest was good.

So £46 well spent there then. I fitted new stem seals as well.

Sounds smoother than a sewing machine. Leaking inlet manifold gasket was causing most of the rough idling.

As you can see, she has no rust!

Oh yes

As a former resident of Bath, I can say having a fresh motor takes me straight back to 1991.

Milsom Street, Monkton Combe, Speak Easys, Old Orleans, The Bee Hive (Dangerous).

I had my engine completely re-done and enlarged to 1108cc... but it is still laying on the mechanic shop floor 'cause this hard snowy winter blocked couriers and I miss a couple of pieces... What a shame!
