Very sadly, I need to sell our lovely R4. I was considering doing it up but have other classics and cannot find the time to drive it enough, even if I did. Better to pass over to an enthuiast to show a bit of love and many more years of use.
I have owned "Alvin" for around 10 years and my uncle before that in London for at least 15 years as well, so he's very much part of our family. We had a house in France around 10 years ago and he was there as our local car for at least 3 or 4 years on French plates, but back to the original registration/plate since we retruned around 7 years ago. Had a total new exhaust front to back at that point too.
Always starts, runs well but needs love. A fantastic car for someone and very original, bar the addition of the chrome bumpers my uncle added 20 years ago, I believe. Has been SORN'ed for the past 2 years in a dry garage and now out and about again, but not driving much as ideally needs new tyres, brakes refreshing etc. I would rather not do that work, as someone buying would prefer to make their own decisions.
So what is he worth? It's hard for me to know, tbh. But I am interested in offers (or advice from someone not buying). But I am very happy to show anyone around or test drive.
