This offered R4 looks like a R3:

The sign says "R4", but it has no 3rd window and the door knobs are plastic, not chromed. Also the headlamps are painted, not chrome rings. Ist this now a R3 or is it a super-simple version of R4.

As far as I know R3s have only been built in 1961 and 62?

I think that this is a very simple version of the 4. I think that this was the Renault 4 base model which probably didn't sell as well as the 'L' version.

Its coming home!
I have agreed a deal, paid the deposit and will be going over in about a weeks time with a trailer to bring it back.
I always wanted a very early car or van and love the look of the 4 window body.
Lets hope it lives up to the original and rust free discription!
