Hi all! Second time posting. I've been taking andvantage of this forum since 2010, and I found literally everything needed for the restoration of my 1982 LHD GTL. Thank you! Since the car is done and runs great, I looked for an other project... which I can share with you!

1983 R4F4 burried in a backyard of a house in a small village in Carpathians. 845 ccm engine, latest 4 speed transmission, clean papers, 4 seats, no MOT since 2010. Sure I bought it.

And took it home

And only after taking it home I opened my eyes and took a closer look

No turning back from here I guess

Hello Tamas, wow, quite a project, but as you've been there before I don't suppose you are daunted by it, and I'm sure it will end up beautiful. Looking forward to seeing your progress.

Welcome back on your second adventure, we know all R4s are the same, despite the year of build, engine size or model.
The fuel filter looked clean so she's still salvageable ;) I'll surely follow your progress, good luck.
Regards, Joop

Thank you for the support, not much progress since

Are these auxiliary boxes at the back arches stock or some previous owner built them? These F4s used to have tool box build in the rear crossmember, right?

Hit below the belt but ok! :clapping: Thank you!

Quite a project Tamas,
Good luck with bringing it back on the road.

Wow, indeed a very nice project! Looking forward to your updates!

There is no way to go back from here.
But then you are keeping piece of history in your hands.
Eventually it will shine.

Keep us informed about progress. We love this kind of projects.
