I took my rad off to flush it, and broke the little plastic protrusion while pulling off the expansion hose. It’s probably the original rad, so I don’t mind buying a replacement, but wondered if anyone can suggest a way to repair it, such as drill/tap the hole and araldite a threaded brass tube (if I can find one). It'd be a shame to scrap an otherwise good (and now flushed) radiator. Thanks in anticipation!

The plastic gets brittle. Normally they fail where the core clamps on to the plastic sides for the same reason. If it's the original it would be better to buy another one.

You probably could drill/tap something in there but whether you'd trust it not to fail at the wrong time? Been using gorilla epoxy lately on more things than I should with good effect though. I've also just replaced my rad admittedly for a 1.1 engine not sure if they're different but was under £50 from ebay, fit & forget for a while hopefully
