Rattle

Hello .
Is my car chain cam drive or gear and if chain is it single or double . I have a rattle coming from the rear of the engine that goes quiet after a couple of minutes so I presume it's when the oil circulates and the engine warms up . Does the engine always have to come out to sort this out and how difficult is this .

Hi

The engine would need to come out to change the timing chain and tensioner. It is a single chain.

It is a time consuming job as there is lots to undo and bolt up again.
