What a great story!
Glad it is all going nicely!

I crave for one same as this...One day i will get my hands on it!

Well I've been back on the Renault 4 Van Duncan has been very patiently Waiting
F4 progress video and pic update
New shoes cylinders flex hoses freed off seized adjusters all round
Tank out soaked in diluted caustic soda for 3 days followed by 2 days diluted spirits of salts
One day drying out then tank sealer treatment off eBay
Cleaned and rust treated chassis paint and refitted tank
Mot next week hopefully

Paul has certainly got stuck in this week, and mot day isn't far off, Fingers crossed. Since the last post back In June I've spent what time I've had changing oil & filters, flushing coolant and attempting to seal a leaky radiator. Apart from this a general clean up. Still haven't managed to source the leak in the passenger footwell yet though!
Any thoughts?
Thanks Duncan

Well all my hard work has paid off it went for MOT test at midday today the only hiccup being the emissions being too high and then the engine getting too hot so I had to go back after test stations lunch break once it has cooled down I adjusted the mixture and we've got a new MOT with only a couple of small advisory not bad for a car that's been off the road 20 years
The next job will be to try and track down a suitable 8 4 5 CC radiator at a sensible price as as the one on it is pretty grim

Awesome! Another one brought back to life. Well done :clapping:

The overheating issue was a leaky radiator and too much radweld
Tom panther helpfully supplied a spare radiator which Hermes didn't take much care of in transit luckily it survived with a dented tank and misshapen outlet pipe removing bottom hose revealed corroded pump and a new Problem
Local suppliers had 4 in stock £20 plus vat
New belts and idler bearing needed too
Flushed and refilled all went well and it's first trip out since 1995 was a success
Inspired I asked Duncan if I could take to a car event today as the weather was debatable the French car club were low on support so I found a few more cars to help out 20190930_161547.jpg20191004_144329.jpg20190930_161547.jpg20191004_144329.jpg20191004_180431.jpg20191004_180409.jpg20191013_120912.jpg20191013_090238.jpg20191004_180131.jpg20191013_090641.jpg20191013_113019.jpg20191004_180112.jpg
