Hi, I'm after a project r4. I would like a runner, but happy have one that needs welding. (as long as it's not gone in inaccessible structural areas ! )
Whats out there? (I'm based in Shropshire but would travel to save to right car. )

Good R4s with little to no work are for sale, but you pay the price.

Project R4s that require real (a lot of) work are cheaper, and the "inaccessible" structural areas will be affected. It just depends on how much work and effort you are willing to put into it.

The so-called inaccessible structural areas are actually accessible as long as you separate the body and chassis.

Read the projects section on this forum to see what you might up against on working on or restoring a R4.

I have had a lot of experience with resurrecting rotten VW aircooled stuff over the years and i've hand built a Austin 7 Special from the chassis up in steel. So Fabrication is not too much of an issue. My dad had a few 4s when I was a kid and now i;ve got an itch to own one.

Scratch that itch, you won't be disappointed. They are just all round fun, that can be shared because there are 4 seats.
