As mentioned earlier, Ronnie was not running well. When I got back to France, with a box of bits argon Franzose awaiting me, I changed the coil, old one was at least 8 years old and Bulgarian!
Could not identify the carb, different from those in Haynes.
Paul Cunningham eventually tracked down what the carb was and suggested taking the jet out and cleaning it and cleaning a rubber dump valve on the wing side of the carb, which I did with a spray can of carb cleaner, and hey presto, thé car worked. Carb is same as R5 1.4L motor type. Ronnie is 1985 TL with 845cc that was unexpected so maybe that is what was generally installed on ´85 French models.
