solex carb

Is the solex carb for the 850engine of 1977 interchangable with the zenith of the same size engine but later model? If so with any mods?

If it is 32mm diameter (Solex 32 EISA) you can fit the Zenith 32 IF (as fitted to '84-'86 850cc). You cannot fit the Zenith 28 IF.

sorry back to front I already have the zenith but have seen a new solex on ebay is zenith better than the solex?

What type of carb do you have and what type is that advertised? I don't think Solex is better than Zenith, or vice versa,except that Solex parts are a bit easier to obtain in my country.

I have seen this carb on ebay a couple of times and wondered why nobody had snapped it up. It appears to be suitable for the very early models but not sure if it will fit later ones. This carb appears to have a water heated base so if somebody were to buy it for a later model I feel that they would have a few headaches in trying to adapt it. I would buy it anyway and put it on the mantlepiece for showing off, as someone will be desperate for one of these one day!!
