Switches

Hi I have two R4 GTIs, one 1986 and one 1988. Both LHD. The 1988 one has wiring for 3 switches to the left of the steering wheel where as the 1986 only has 2 (I think) - hazards lights, heated rear window and wiring for another but the switch is missing. Does anyone know what this is for?

The third switch would be for the rear foglight:

The bottom space had a blank switch fitted.
